MAY 2010
Dateline: Amana, Iowa
Breaking News…………………………
It was announced to the members in attendance at the 2010 Amana Rally, that there was a new
recipient of the coveted Boob-A-Roo Award.
It certainly took the audience by surprise. We don’t want to name names but the initials are B & P
Y. To earn this prestigious award, it was reported that there was a Brake Buddy and smoking tires
involved. For details of this embarrassing mishap, feel free to contact B or P.
Signing off for now,
B.A. Roo, MAB Roving Reporter
Remember, the eyes of Boob-A-Roo are everywhere, and when you least expect it………
Thanks to our roving reporter, Mr. Roo, for his insightful, investigative article. We look forward to
receiving more breaking news from Mr. Roo, as it occurs.
WILLKOMMEN!
The first MAB rally of the season was extremely successful. It was wonderful to see our friends
again after a long winter. 18 Bounder Coaches converged at the Amana RV Park in Amana, Iowa.
Members showed up ready and willing to plan and organize the 2011 BOA 20th Anniversary Rally.
This joint International Rally hosted by MAB is going to be an event unmatched in modern rally
history. Hosting this event were Bob & Judy Hansen and the MAB Executive Board. The slogan
“showing up with bells on” is exactly what our members did. There was an excitement of
volunteering and working together to make this a very successful International event. We have an
enormous amount of creative talent and experience among our members.
We still have a few areas where volunteers are needed. Please contact the Rally Master, Jerry
Hardacre, to obtain information on what is needed.
Attendees were: Bob & Judy Hansen, Jerry & Carol Hardacre, Rick & Kathy Groves, Larry & Jolly
Whitener, Bob & Paula Young, Dick & Joan Clay, Gale & Joan Scheller, Jean & Barbara Zielinski,
Tom & Judy Robinson, Bob & Jan Israelson, Jim & Carolyn Shedenhelm, Dan DeRenzy and Jean Rose
DeRenzy, Joe & Tommi Nash, Melvin & Nancy Coy, Dan & Niecy Milner, Jerry & Joyce Borkoski,
and new members, Bruce & Beth Bailey and Bill & Audry Hanson.
We all ventured out in different directions to sample the culinary delights of Amana. Even the local
Dairy Queen noticed increased business. Our hosts provided fabulous breakfasts including
pancakes and breakfast casseroles. The traditional potluck was tasty and plentiful. Our evenings
were again enjoyed by the campfire.
Our thanks to Bob & Judy Hansen for being extraordinary hosts.
Sometimes the simplest pleasures can turn into the most fun. It is amazing that our evening of
“Bingo” turned into such a hoot! We laughed and some almost cried! Either we are easily entertained
or we just have a knack for bringing people and fun together in any format.
Cares & Concerns
Joan Clay graciously volunteered to be our club “Sunshine Girl”. Please a send all information about
the health and welfare of our members to her at acgram926@aol.com. Joan will call, send cards and
keep all of us posted as to our fellow club member’s status. Joan will be an excellent “Sunshine
Girl”.
Dave Czerniak is recovering well from Gall Bladder surgery in May.
Dick & Joan Clay are still in the process of restoring their home to its original condition after a
pregnant squirrel took residence in their absence. The little critter did an amazing about of damage.
Just a reminder that it is time to send in your payment for MAB dues. If you haven’t sent them in,
do so now.
We were reminded at this rally by the RV Park that it is essential to follow all park rules which are
mostly industry standard: “Pets are welcome while on a leash; shower facilities, restrooms and
offices are off limits to all animals. Pet owners must clean up after their animals; continuously
barking or nuisance pets and their owners may be asked to leave the park.” Also, please observe
park quiet hours. We don’t want MAB to acquire a bad reputation, so let us all strive to be good
neighbors.
MAB Newsletters
Anyone who would like to volunteer to be a “MAB Newsletter Contributor” to report on Rallies is
welcomed. This may be a way to put a new twist on our monthly newsletter and/or inspire your
creative juices to flow. It is imperative for us to have quality articles on our Rallies that are
written by a member in attendance at that Rally. That having been said, we have an immediate need
for a MAB Newsletter Contributor to write an article on the June Rally. Please contact your
Newsletter Editor, Kathy Groves at kgroves@mabounders.org for more information.

Recipes
Blueberry Sauce
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup frozen orange juice concentrate (if I don't have frozen I use regular OJ)
2 tablespoons Cornstarch
Mix together in a large saucepan
Add 3 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
Bring to a boil stirring constantly and then boil for 2 minutes (I use medium heat) this will thicken
as you boil and stir
This keeps well in the refrigerator or freezer and I warm it as I want to use it.
President’s Corner
A hardy thank You to all who attended our first Rally of the year. We had 18 coaches and I am
very pleased with the tasks our chapter accomplished at the Amana Colonies rally. A special thanks
goes to all those who have volunteered so far. We got a lot accomplished and laid some good ground
work for the International BOA-BU rally for next May 17-21, 2011. Don’t misunderstand me, there
is still a lot to be done, there are still jobs to be assigned and there is a job for every person in our
chapter, but we got a good running start.
We are looking forward to another exciting season of rallies for Mid-America Bounders. Please
study the schedule and plan to attend as many of these rallies as possible. Get your reservations
sent in so we can have a great time with our Bounder family. “The more the merrier!”
Jolly Ann informs me that there are 14 members that have not paid dues for 2010 as of yet. If you
are one of those members please send your $5.00 dues to Jolly Ann, at 10 Oak Hollow Dr., St.
Peters, MO 63376 as soon as possible, the month of May is about to close. If you have any questions
call her at 636-240-5068. Happy and safe traveling and we hope to see you in Clarksville, MO.
June 17th.
