Dear MAB Members,
Another great MAB rally was enjoyed at the KOA Middlebury in the Amish country near Shipshewana ,
IN hosted by Sue & Herb Feltner and Jan & Bob Israelson. Those attending were Carol Anderson &
Tom Holmes, Alice, Scott & Jodi Blind with their granddaughter Heavenlee, Dick & Joan Clay, and son,
Steve Clay, Kyle & Nancy Davis, Herb & Sue Feltner, Paul Fulkerson, Rick & Kathy Groves, Bill &
Carol Haenny, Bob & Judy Hansen, Jerry & Carol Hardacre, Bob & Jan Israelson, Danny & Gail
Leonard, Joe & Tommie Nash, Tom & Judy Robinson, Paul & Helen Schatz, John & Ruthanne Serio,
Larry & Jolly Ann Whitener and Bob & Paula Young with a total of 18 coaches, plus a drive in visit by
Joe and Betty Ernst on Friday night until Saturday noon staying at the KOA house.
Several came early to visit the many attractions in the area. A great meal was enjoyed at the Blue
Gate Restaurant in Shipshewana on Tuesday evening by most of the early arrivals. Several took
advantage of the Flea Market in Shipshewana on Tuesday and Wednesday and came back with lots of
goodies. Wednesday at 4:00 pm everyone gathered at our hosts coach for “Happy Hour” to catch up
on the latest news. After dark we had a Campfire at Clay’s coach.
The rally officially opened Thursday with 9 cars going to Nappanee , IN for a tour of the Gulf Stream
Motor Home factory. After the tour, some took individual side trips on the way back to the
campgrounds. Dinner that evening was at the Das Dutchman Essenhaus Restaurant, served family
style, with a Cruise-In Antique Car Show in the parking lot. In the evening, we enjoyed a campfire at
Clay’s coach.
Friday started with breakfast consisting of casseroles and fresh fruit in the KOA recreation hall.
Afterwards, a very enlightening seminar on “Outside Coach Maintenance” was given by Bob Young. A
craft followed with Jan Israelson showing ladies how to make felt poinsettia napkin holders. Friday
night, we ate at Miller’s Country Kitchen, a beautiful Amish farmhouse in the country, for another
delicious meal. Then back to the KOA with the usual campfire at the Clays.
Saturday started with a pancake & sausage breakfast in the recreation hall; then at 9:15 am we
drove to Elkhart , IN to tour the new RV/MH Museum. That evening we enjoyed a potluck supper in
the recreation hall followed with our business meeting. See your minutes for further details. Thanks
to Jolly Ann Whitener, who brought her electronic keyboard, we enjoyed music and singing around the
campfire.
On Sunday morning we enjoyed a continental breakfast at the Feltner coach and a short devotional
was given by Tom Robinson. Some started home after this and some of us lingered a day or two longer
to savor the quiet countryside.

Weighing Your Coach: Bob Young is making arrangements (not finalized yet) for individual weighing of
coaches at the Remington Hybrids Geneseo Inc. scale, about two miles from the Geneseo Campground
for Wed, Thurs, or Fri of the rally. Coaches will only be weighed one at a time and must be
accompanied by Bob Young to assure that the procedure is done without interfering with their normal
flow of grain on the scales. This will be an excellent opportunity to see how your coach is loaded and
where you need to adjust your weight (in the coach that is).
You will need to arrive at the campground, unhook your Towed, sign in and get your campsite
assignment. Then exit the park following Bob Young to the scale for weighing. Then return to the park
for the rally. If you want your towed weighed you will have to drive it separately to the weighing
session, again only by following Bob Young's supervision to comply with the company’s requests.
If you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, contact Bob Young.

“Hospitality is making guests feel at home, even though you wish they were.” Author Unknown
A man in North Carolina had a flat tire, pulled off on the side of the road, and proceeded to put a
bouquet of flowers in front of the car and one behind it. Then he got back in the car to wait.
A passerby studied the scene as he drove by and was so curious he turned around and went back. He
asked the fellow what the problem was.
The man replied with a heavy southern accent, "I have a flat tar."
The passerby asked, "But what's with the flowers?"
The man responded, "When you break down, they tell you to put flares in front and flares in back. I
never understood this either.”
