MAB OCTOBER NEWSLETTER
October 14th - 17th found the Mid-America Bounders enjoying the fall weather at
Elkhart Campground, Elkhart, IN, hosted by Jean and Barb Zielinski and Kathy and Rick
Groves. Also attending were Dick and Joan Clay, Bob and Judy Hansen, Bruce and Beth
Bailey, Joe and Tommi Nash, Bob and Jan Israelson, Jerry and Carol Hardacre, Bob and
Paula Young, Tom and Judy Robinson, Dan and Niecy Milner, Larry and JollyAnn Whitener,
Jim and Marsha Hall, Melvin and Nancy Coy, Herb and Sue Feltner and Bill Andrews and
Charlotte. Also with us were Kathy Groves father - Joe Dover and Rosemary and Doug
Bruder, guests of the Clays.
Several MAB’s spent Friday touring the R.V. Museum at Elkhart, the rest found various
ways to entertain themselves. As usual, wonderful breakfasts were provided by the hosts
and evening meals included a trip to the Blue Gate Restaurant in Shipshewana and a taco bar
and pot-luck at the campground. As usual, there were evening runs to get our ice cream fix!
There was no formal business meeting this week-end, but we did have a meeting about
the upcoming Amana BOA/BU International Rally and how our plans were progressing. Joan
Clay wants to remind everyone to bring their used paperback books to that rally for a book
sale (proceeds to be donated to our designated charity). Be sure to get your registration
sent in if you are planning to be there. (The registration form is available on the MAB
website.)
Jerry and Carole Hardacre were presented with our annual “MAB” award in recognition
of outstanding service to the Mid-America Bounders for their positions as President and
Secretary of MAB. Jerry may no longer be our President, but he continues as our Good-
Will Ambassador and Wagon-master for the Amana Rally. The Boo-Ba-Roo was also awarded!!
