JUNE  2010 - UPDATED

Summer Greetings to All MAB Members:

Those present to enjoy the Tievoli Hills Resort in Clarksville, MO on June 17-20, 2010
were:  Jim & Carolyn Shedenhelm, our hosts, Jerry & Carol Hardacre, co-hosts, their
grandsons Josiah Hardacre and Austin Swinford, Larry & Jolly Ann Whitener, and Bob &
    Paula Young.

Well, we had another great rally.  We were small in numbers but mighty in fun!   Jim &
Carolyn prepared a very hearty happy hour on Thursday evening with a meal of sloppy joes,
corn-on-the-cob, potato salad, baked beans, pea salad, in addition to things everyone else
prepared.  We really did eat well!  On Friday morning Carolyn had prepared sausage bites,
fresh fruit, cereal, pastry, juice, milk and coffee.  Friday was spent exploring Clarksville
with its history & the lock and dam.  Lots of quaint shops with unusual finds.  Friday evening
we all went out to dinner at Eagle’s Bluff Golf Center south of Clarksville.  It was very
delightful as we had a view of the rolling countryside as we ate on the air-conditioned porch.
Then on Saturday morning we had a pancake breakfast, and then it was off to Clarksville or
Louisiana for more exploring or, as the Hardacre’s did with the grandsons, spent the day at
Tievoli enjoying all the activities available.  They spent the day playing miniature golf,
swimming, racket ball, basketball, ping-pong, etc.  On Saturday evening we ate at the Port
House on the resort property.  They had entertainment also available as well as many
varieties of wine. Thank you to the Shedenhelms for hosting us.

    CONCERNS:

Update:  We are so sorry to report that Lowell Hardacre, Jerry's brother, passed away
unexpectedly on July 20, 2011.  Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.  Many
of you had met Lowell as he was a frequent visitor to our rallies and a member of FMCA
Hoosier Cruisers.  Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service at 2:00 PM on
Saturday, July 24, 2010.  Rozelle Johnson Funeral Home is located at 229 S. Rangeline
Road, Anderson, IN  46012.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to IU
Simon Cancer Center, Multiple Myeloma Research,     P.O. Box 660245, Indianapolis, IN
46266-0245.   If you have questions, please contact Kathy Groves at 317-418-4950 or
    kgroves@mabounders.org.  Lowell's obituary :  http://heraldbulletin.

Addie Weast fell in her yard and broke her ankle in three places and will be unable to be
with us for the rest of the summer.  Her spirits are good but maybe a card or e-mail would
    help in her recovery.

    May 17 - 20, 2011
    BOA/BU International Rally
    Amana Colonies
    Amana, IA
We are progressing nicely on the planning of this rally.  We have the food finalized with the
hard work of Jerry & Joyce Borkoski.  Entertainment is not completely finalized, but we
have several good possibilities to choose from.   Many other facets are coming together but
we still need everyone to help in other areas.

Joan Clay & Judy Hansen have volunteered to be co-chairs of the Book Sale & Craft
Tables.   They are asking anyone who would be willing to donate paperback and hard covered
books to bring them to the rallies.  Hansen’s will collect them and Clay’s will be at the
October rally to pick them up.  The profits from this sale will be donated to our charity for
the year 2011 so they are hoping for a great variety of books for this event.  They have also
volunteered to be in charge of the craft sale so anyone who would like to participate please
let Joan know at acgram926@aol.com and advise her of what kind of craft you would like to
sell to the general public.  Each one will be given a table to use for selling their items.  Each
crafter will be in charge of their own items and will be responsible for their own money.  So
lets spread the word and get some “crafty people.”

Also, if you find someone that would be willing to help sponsor an evenings entertainment for
say $1000.00 or so, let Jan Israelson or Carol Hardacre know.

A hardy thank you goes to all who have stepped up to the plate and have volunteered to help
make our Amana Colonies BOA/BU Rally a huge success.    We are really excited about the
progress we have made toward the upcoming rally. I hope the rest of the committees are
having equal success.   We will need everyone to participate in the preparation and/or
    execution of this event.

If you are planning to go early or stay late to the BOA/BU International Rally this month in
Branson, then it is recommended you call now and make those arrangements. Call Branson KOA
800-562-4177.  Also, we would like to have a “Happy Hour” for MAB members and
prospective members at Branson, so come prepared!

Thank you to Paula Young who has volunteered to make a poster advertising our Amana Rally
in May 2011 at the Branson Rally.

I have been reviewing the membership records and have found that MAB membership has
remained around 50 members for the last 9 years.  I am proud to say we have been very
consistent as members drop out, for whatever reason, we have been able to replace them.
We have tried to maintain a Family atmosphere as a friendly and caring group.

We are looking forward to seeing many of you at Branson.

    Safe Travels,
    Jerry L. Hardacre
