Hello All:
We certainly hope everyone is surviving the winter. In central Indiana, we had a minimum of 18 inches
of wonderful white stuff. It has melted and given us lots of new lakes and ponds. Come visit Lake
Groves sometime soon, we are thinking about stocking it for fishing.
Herb and Sue Feltner had a great idea for our winter boredom. “Where are you this winter?” They are
collecting little stories from our membership to stay up-to-date on what everyone is doing this winter.
Please stay in touch with Herb and Sue with what you have been up to and we can post some of our
activity on the website.
Now it is time to look at starting our new rally season.
May Rally:
Our hosts for the May rally are the Leonards and Feltners. The May Rally is scheduled at Bill Monroe
Campground in the little town north of Bean Blossom, IN located on IN Hwys 135 & 45 north of
Nashville, IN. The arrival date for this rally is May 14th and departure May 17th. The urgency is that
the reservations need to be in by March 15th with a one-night deposit of $24.08 for 30 amp or $28.85
for 50-amp service. These prices are with a 15% AAA, Good Sam or Escapee discount to all, but if you
belong to any of these please show your card. The sites have Electric & Water only and there is a Dump
Station available. They will charge $15 if you dump when you arrive, so drive in empty. There is no
charge to dump when you leave. For reservations call 1-800-414-4677 ASAP. This is a quaint little
town with many attractions in the area. Don't miss it! The cost is $24.08 for 30 amps per night or
$28.89 for 50 amps per night. Please contact Gail and Danny Leonard or Sue and Herb Feltner with
questions.

News & Concerns:
Jerry and Carol Hardacre have a new email address: jhard1138@gmail.com. Carol is doing well after
her eye surgeries this winter.
Alice Blind is recuperating from shoulder surgery at Scott and Jodi’s.
George Stavropoulos had elbow surgery this winter.
Larry Whitener has started his 38 radiation treatments, which should be done by the end of March.
Our prayers are with Larry & Jolly.
Gale and Joan Scheller are enjoying their winter in sunny Fort Myers, FL. The Hardacres also spent
quality time down in Fort Myers visiting with his brother and wife at “Groves RV Resort”.
Rick Groves is recovering nicely from pneumonia. The Groves spent time with the Hardacres, Schellers
and Lowell Hardacres in Fort Myers, Florida in January. Rick, Gale and Lowell played 18 holes of golf.
All ventured out to the Mucky Duck on Captiva Island for lunch and a little shopping.
Herb and Sue are in Indianapolis this winter enjoying the cold and snow (well kind of). “We and the
economy made the decision to put the Bounder in storage and see what Indiana is like in the winter -
cold! However; we are finding interesting things to do like eat out with friends, quilt, exercise and work
on the computer.”
You all know Bob and Paula Young added a new addition to their family…”Gracie” “Our little Chihuahua has
more love per pound than any big hound.” Word is, she has Bob’s eyes. LOL!!! Congratulations Bob and
Paula.
Dick and Joan Clay are spending time in the southern tip of Alabama. Dick said that they experienced
some rather cold nights initially but said, “it's so much better than at home.” They will be moving around
some after that he says. “We will leave here in mid-February to share my birthday with my
granddaughter in GA., then a month later go back there for my son's birthday in mid-March. From
there, we will find a few places to spend time in the southeast until the North unfreezes in May or June.”
We know where the Alberter’s and Shedenhelm’s have been for part of the winter. Jerry and Carol ran
into them at the South East Area FMCA Rally in Brooksville, FL this past month.
Ray and Carol Ford have sold their Bounder and have purchased a Revolution. Please keep an eye out for
them in your travels.
Bylaws Committee:
The bylaws committee has determined that the document in preservation for our clubs existence is in
fact our club’s “Charter”. The charter had an effective date of May 17, 1997. Alice Blind and Kyle
Davis confirm that the document was the first document claiming Mid-America Bounders to be a chapter
of Bounders of America. This is a critical document for our club’s history and organization and it will be
preserved forever.
New bylaws are being formed as we speak. The committee which is made up of Rick Groves, Alice Blind
and Paula Young are working on a document to be finished and presented to the membership at the May
rally. It will incorporate the guidelines of our charter, BOA’s requirements as our parent organization
and identify critical areas of operation and how we function as a club.
Through the Windshield

I cannot believe that I could write an article that is identical for both great chapters! But, it is
attached for the next issue of each.
I hope you are having a good time in this season. I hate it. Anything below 65 degrees is just too cool
for my old bones. Judy and I are doing OK. Busy spending money on the house - new roof, new carpet
(whole house), and I plan to redo a bathroom and also a half bath. Get all that done while we can't spend
time in the motor home.
Speaking of motor homes, we store ours at an indoor storage area. I asked them to get it out so I could
check it over, run most of the appliances, etc. Actually to make sure it was not lonely without me. While
backing it out, the owner managed to hit the slide topper on the bedroom slide. Don't ask me how he
managed to miss the side of the motor home and just hit the slide topper with the overhead doorframe.
I cannot believe that piece of luck. Anyway, tomorrow I get to take it over to get the topper removed so
we can get a new one ordered (and check to see if the slide was knocked out of position).
Life is truly an adventure - full of ups and downs. Take care of yourselves.
President’s Corner

Carol and I are writing this from the state of Florida trying to stay away from the freezing Cold. We
have experienced some cold weather here, but nothing like it is at home. We spent three weeks in Ft.
Myers then a week in Brooksville (FMCA South East Area Rally) then Tampa area for about 5 days. As
of this writing, we are at Lady Lake for a week. From here it is up in the air until March 12 when we
attend the International FMCA Convention in Perry, GA.
We have encountered several Bounder owners along the way and have solicited a few for BOA & MAB. I
hope as you travel, that you talk to other Bounder owners about BOA & MAB membership. I encourage
you to keep a supply of current BOA and MAB membership applications on hand and be sure your name and
BOA number in on that BOA application. Remember, for every 3 new members you recruit for BOA, you
earn a free years membership for yourself. Many people I encounter have never heard of BOA, so it is
up to us to educate them. “Nothing ventured, nothing gained.”
I had an opportunity to talk to Stan Zielinski, the President of Michigan O Bounders (MOB), about the
possibility of having a joint MAB-MOB rally sometime. Their schedule is set for 2009 and so is MAB for
the most part, but might be a possibility for the summer of 2010. I think we could have a rally in
Southern Michigan or Northern Indiana and have a pretty good attendance and a good time. I would like
to get some deed back on this subject, to get your ideas.
We have visited several MAB members this winter in the Florida area. We spent time with the
Schellers and Groves in Ft. Myers, the Shedenhelms and Alberters in Brooksville, and the Greenes at
their home in Thonotosassa, FL.
We will see you all in May at Bean Blossom, IN, so until then keep it between the lines and be safe.
