August 24, 2007

    Hello MAB Members:

As you know our president and Secretary, Jerry and Carol are out traveling in their RV
so we will try to do a newsletter.

Our August rally was held at the Rustic Barn campground in Kieler, Wisconsin and hosted
by Joe, Tommie and Beth Nash, Carol Anderson and Tom Holmes.  This was a unique place
perched on a ridge looking down onto a dairy farm.  We had our own Holstein Room for our
meetings, which was appreciated due to the hard rains.

On Thursday the group went on a riverboat trip with luncheon included.  It was a
beautiful sunny day and the group enjoyed the outing. Beth Nash helped us make our own
spinners for our awnings.  Thanks Beth they look great!

On Friday everyone was on their own with some doing the Mississippi River Museum and
Aquarium and some visited the small Victorian town of Galena, IL. with it’s shopping
experience at unusual shops.  Friday night we went to near by Shultzie’s Supper Club for
a fish fry.  You should see the looks we got when we all went in with our yellow shirts and
name badges!  It makes me laugh every time we do this.

Saturday and Sunday morning we had lovely continental breakfasts with homemade breads
and pastries.  Good time to visit and start the day.  Sat A.M. Carol Anderson did a very
informative seminar on Water Filtration Systems.  Thanks Carol.

Saturday night we again had a potluck dinner with the host providing Brats and corn-on-
the-cob – so good.  Our group out did themselves with tasty side dishes.  The recipe of
the month comes from our newest member Barb Loscheider with a diabetic friendly
dessert.  After our tummies were full, we had our short business meeting.

SEPTEMBER RALLY:  September 20-22.  The rally fees apply from Tues, the 18th
through Sat night the 22nd.  This is an early entry time as some want to come on
Tuesday and Wednesday for the Shipshewana Flea Market.  We will be taking a RV
manufacturing tour on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. and we hope that any that want to tour will
be camped by that time.  On Friday night at 5:30 p.m. we will be going to an Amish
Farm for dinner.  On Saturday we will tour the new RV Museum in Elkhart and then in the
evening have a potluck spaghetti dinner with salads and desserts to be provided by all our
good cooks.  We will have a seminar by Bob Young and Jan Israelson will be doing a craft
for the ladies – bring pinking or regular scissors.
