  Dear MAB Member,

If you did not attend the “Boundering In The Spring” BOA Rally, you missed a good one.
The Buckeye Bounders did a wonderful job of putting this rally together in such a short
time. The Mid America Bounders got lots of compliments on the job of parking. With the
help of everyone, especially Bob Young and Dick Clay, and many others like the greeters
out at the Tom Raper corner, those golf cart drivers escorting coaches in and others
manning the different areas seeing that the coaches got parked properly. We had a well
organized parking procedure that was able to be flexible when needed and satisfy
    everyone.

As a chapter we had an informal meeting Friday afternoon to go over the upcoming rallies
for the season and to learn more about the MAB website from Rick & Kathy Groves. If
you have not accessed the website at www.mabounders.org be sure and do so. This can
be a good communication tool, as well as a recruitment tool for new members. If you
need information on how to open the website or setup your own e-mail address within the
website, contact Kathy Groves at kgroves@mabounders.org.

June 19-22, 2008: Alice, Scott and Jodi Blind will be our hosts, and co-hosts Kyle and
Nancy Davis at Indiana Beach, Monticello, IN. This rally will be “kid friendly” with games
and food for them. Bring your grandchildren and have a good time. If you have not
reserved your site for this rally, you can still make your reservation – but do it now. Call

are looking forward to a great rally.

July 17-20, 2008: Fox Hill RV Park in Baraboo, WI will be the site near the famous

August 21-24, 2008: Rick & Kathy Groves with the help of Danny & Gail Leonard are
getting things lined up for a unique rally centered around the Mt. Comfort, IN air show.
The rally will be at the Indianapolis KOA less than a mile away from the air show. On
Friday we will be able to see the practice from the campgrounds and Saturday Rick has
made arrangements to take two motor homes over to the air show so that we have our
own facilities right there at the show. For more information about the Air Show contact
Kathy Groves at kgroves@mabounders.org or go to the website and click on “calendar”
then the icon for the August rally. For reservations call KOA at 1-800-562-0531 ASAP.

September 18-21, 2008: This rally will also be quite a popular location, at the Mark
Twain Cave Campgrounds in Hannibal, MO hosted by Bob & Paula Young, co-hosts Bill &
Carol Haenny and Dan & Neicy Milner. There are many attractions in the area and to
learn more about the area check out the link from the MAB website. As of this writing,

October 16-19, 2008: Our Hosts will be Larry & Jolly Ann Whitener and co-hosts Tom

been preserved to the look of that era. Being a suburb of St. Louis, MO there is a wide
variety of things to do. Make your reservations by calling Sundermeier RV Park at 1-
    800-929-0832.

DUES REMINDER: If you have not paid your 2008 dues, please send a $5.00 payment
to Jolly Ann Whitener.  Payment is due, May 31, 2008. Make checks payable to Mid-

NEW Members: Welcome to four new members that recently joined BOA and Mid-
    America Bounders.

    David & Lynn Miller #5549
    James & Dorris Loesch #5556
    Ron & Sue Tabor #5557
    George & Patti Stavropoulos #5560

We look forward to seeing them at our rallies and extend a hand of friendship.

Concerns:  Bob Hansen is still doing well from his back surgery. He and Judy are on their
first short outing and everything is going good. Judy wants to thank everyone that sent
cards, phone calls, and the prayers wishing Bob a successful recovery. Also concerns go
out to Joe Ernst & Hank Weast who are both on the mind.

                                       THROUGH THE WINDSHEILD
                                             By Tom Robinson

Wasn't Richmond a great rally! Cool weather, great food and too much of it. Met a lot
of new friends. Got my first rally "fix" of the season. Can't get a lot better than that!
Was blown away by the Mossburg Family Strings. If you want to visit their website it is
www.mossburgstrings.com. Heard absolutely nothing but praises for the way MAB
handled the parking. I told Jerry that we had better mess it up some the next time or
we might become the permanent parking committee!

So, what has the Executive Board been doing? Those at the rally know that we are
seeking your input on the direction you want us to try and go. The merger issue is a hot
topic that tends to generate a lot of talk before details are known, but please vote if
you did not do so at the rally. The Bounder Beacon will have a ballot for you to use.
Another ballot covers all the Constitution and Bylaws changes that are proposed. The
Executive Board encourages you to vote "yes" on all of these proposals, but again, please
    vote!

You now have the option of receiving your Bounder Beacon online. This option will save
BOA some money, and you will get your issue several weeks ahead of the mailed copy.
You can, at the same time, ask for email notification of when the next issue is available.
Go to www.bounder.org, click on Member Care and fill in the necessary blanks. You do
not have to accept this option, the hard copy will be mailed to you unless you opt out. In
the near future, the current issue of the Bounder Beacon will not be available on the
website. A couple of past issues will always be posted for potential members to see what
    they are missing!

I sure want to thank Carol Anderson, Dick Clay, and Jolly Ann Whitener for being willing
to toss their names in the pot to help me with the Constitution & Bylaws. So typical of
MAB members isn't it? I know Franz Singer received a lot of names, so his decision is
going to be a tough one.

Judy and I hit the road again for BOA on June 11. Hope to see you at Indiana Beach!

                                            PRESIDENT’S CORNER
                                             By Jerry Hardacre

I was quite proud of the MAB members at the BOA rally. The members pulled together
and did a superb job in organizing the parking detail. I want to especially thank Bob
Young and Dick Clay for their leadership of the detail. We got many, many compliments
    on a job well done.

I was recognized at the BOA rally for bringing in more members than anyone else. I
challenge everyone to be more aware of the Bounder owners who you come in contact
with. Remember, less than 10% of all the Bounder owners belong to either BOA or BU
combined. Therefore, you have a 90%+ chance that any Bounder owner you encounter is
a good prospect for membership. Also, for every three members you sign up to BOA
gets you a free years membership. Each one of us are ambassadors for BOA. If you like
what you experience in BOA and MAB, talk to others about it. Carry blank BOA and
MAB applications with you to pass along to any prospects. Also, be sure to put your
    name on those applications.

If you have a connection with any Bounder dealer that sells new and/or used units,
contact Tom Robinson to get some “Recruiting Packets” to pass along to those dealers so
they can pass them along to the new Bounder buyers. If you can convince the Dealer to
pay the first year membership to BOA would be even better yet.

To anyone going to the FMCA International Rally in St. Paul, MN July 14-17, 2008,
Carol Anderson has offered to have anyone to camp at their place overnight on the way
to the Rally. She has room for five coaches, electric only, and one full hook up. If the
timing works out for you I recommend it, as it is a beautiful setting. Call Carol or Tom .
The MAB Rally will be immediately following the FMCA rally in Baraboo, WI on the way
    home.

Carol and I are hitting the road again June 1 with our daughter-in-law and four
grandchildren to go to Virginia to visit three US history museums, then end up at Myrtle
Beach for a week with the rest of the family. We will come home the week of June 15th
then head out for Indiana beach June 19th for the MAB rally.

Isn’t motor homing the greatest? I just love paying for the fuel!! LOL!

    Carol Hardacre
