December Indiana MAB Luncheon
- For the past several years, there has been a group of four MAB couples from
the Central Indiana area that have gotten together before Christmas for a
dinner at one of the members homes to visit and celebrate the Christmas
holiday.
This last year or so the Indiana group has grown by “Leaps and Bounders,” so
we have advanced to have our get together at a restaurant. We had a total
of 10 couples at the MCL Restaurant in Indianapolis on Monday, December 1,
2008. After a great meal, our MAB VP, Rick Groves extended an invitation to
drive a few blocks down the street to the Lawrence Twp. Fire Dept.
Headquarters and visit in their conference room and then he would give us a
tour of the Fire House. We had a great visit sitting around an imaginary
campfire. Rick Groves presented a slide show of some photos of past rallies
of “way back when” as well as the past two years. After a brief discussion of
the absence of a May 2009 rally, we were able to get rally Hosts for that
time. The location to be announced later.
Besides eight Indiana couples, our Area VP Tom & Judy Robinson and our
Treasurer Jolly Ann & Larry Whitener attended, driving from western IL and
St. Louis to join us. Also attended were Alice & Jodi Blind, Herb & Sue
Feltner, Jim & Nina Francis, Rick & Kathy Groves, Jerry & Carol Hardacre,
Bob & Jan Israelson, Danny & Gail Leonard and last but not least, our newest
members, George & Patti Stavropoulos. (Stav rop’ o lus)
Illinois MAB members, you might want to follow suit and have a get together of
your own for the Holidays or sometime this winter for a mid-winter luncheon
and visit.
